TSA Regulations Personal Items Allowed Aboard a Flight

Knowing what can be packed in carry-on luggage and items that must be packed in your checked baggage can be confusing, but there are some basic guidelines that you can follow. When it comes to personal items, you may carry liquids, gels, and aerosols in your carry-on bags only if they adhere to the 3-1-1 rule: containers must be 3.4 ounces or less; stored in a oneƃ‚  quart/liter zip-top bag; one zip-top bag per person, placed in the screening bin. Larger amounts of non-medicinal liquids, gels, and aerosols must be placed in checked baggage. Remember, the final decision of what is allowed through the final checkpoint area rests with the TSA officer.
